 CENTRAL CROATIA
Central Croatia is the area lying in the valleys of the rivers Sava, Drava and Mura. Visiting it you will discover another culture, another gastronomy, different history and architecture.
The northern part of this region, with the hilly area of Zagorje, is dotted with castles and spas. The old city of Varaždin with its monuments and artistic heritage, represents the best preserved and richest urban complex in continental Croatia. The city of Varaždin welcomes in August and September artists, street performers, musicians and vendors for what is called “the street walking festival”. The south has some natural highlights, such as the nature park Lonjsko polje. The Marian shrine of Marija Bistrica is the country's largest pilgrimage spot.
 
SLAVONIA
Slavonia is a geographical and historical region in eastern Croatia. The cultural center is the historical city of Osijek, with its Old Town and baroque style buildings. The Cathedral  is the town of Đakovo's primary landmark and sacral object throughout the region of Slavonia. Cities Slavonski Brod, Vinkovci, Vukovar, Požega are also points of interest in the area.
Slavonia’s music tradition is well-known all over Croatia and wider. There are yearly events celebrating folklore in Slavonia and present traditional folk costumes, folklore dancing and singing groups, customs. Slavonia is one of Croatia's winemaking areas, with Ilok and Kutjevo recognized as centres of wine production. Talking about food, first thing that comes to mind is  specialty cured meat – kulen. Kulen is a type of flavoured sausage made of minced pork that is traditionally produced in Slavonia and its designation of origin has been protected.
 
LIKA
Lika is a traditional region of Croatia in continental part of the country,  bound by the Velebit mountain from the southwest and the  Plješevica mountain from the northeast. Lika is characterized by karstic underground with numerous caves, the blue surface waters of the rivers, 
Major towns include Gospić, Otočac, Gračac. Plitvice Lakes National Park is also in Lika.
